On January 25, Keaira officially became part of our family. (Notice I say officially! She has been part of our family since March 13, the day we picked her up in Kansas City.) We started the weekend by celebrating Mom and Dad V.'s 40th wedding anniversary at the Great Wolf Lodge in KC. The kids all loved the indoor water park! Alivia, Riana, and Aiden even liked the BIG slides. Keaira absolutely loved to splash in the water, too. We had a wonderful supper at Shroud's on Sunday night.
On Monday morning we got ourselves packed up from a fun weekend and headed over to the Wyandotte County Courthouse. The court proceedings began at 10:45 a.m. We were so thankful to have the same Judge and Lawyer that we had for Riana and Aiden's Adoption (Sept. 19, 2008). Once again, it was a great experience. The only difference was that the weather was yucky this time. It made for a chilly walk to and from the vehicles!
Next, we headed to a place called Power Play. They have a buffet (which is always scary) but we went because we wanted a fun place for kids. They have a great Kids Zone and lots of other fun games. The kids loved the train! Another fun ride for the older three was the the Tilt-a-Whirl. As they spun around, Riana said to me, "Mom, I'm getting busy!" (As much as I try, I can't get her to say dizzy!) They weren't quite dizzy enough so they went on the swings next. It was then time for the adults to race the Go Karts. We couldn't end the day without eating some Adoption Day Cake. By this time, we had 4 very tired kiddos. I don't think that we hardly made it out of the parking lot before our crew was asleep! Alivia made it a little farther than our kiddos. What a fun, memorable weekend!
